2010 Pinot Gris Anderson Valley

Our 2010 Anderson Valley Pinot gris was partly fermented in a large oak oval that holds the equivalent of 15 barrels. The exciting aromatics of this wine demonstrate why oak ovals are a favored fermentation vessel in Alsace. The nose is loaded with Satsuma mandarin, pineapple, and papaya while hints of wet rock, bread dough, and hazelnut oil add complexity. The palate is rich and unctuous, intense with flavors of marmalade, grapefruit, and baked apricots.

2009 Pinot Gris Wiley Vineyard

The fourth vintage of our Wiley Pinot Gris shows lovely notes of honey and poached pear on the nose. Aromas of beeswax and apricot mingle with hints of lemon curd and white peach. Brilliant gold in the glass, this unctuous wine is loaded with flavors of Mandarin orange and cantaloupe. The palate is rich and dense flavors of lemon oil on the finish.

2010 Riesling Anderson Valley

Our second vintage of Riesling from Greenwood Ridge displays classic notes of wet stone and wild flower honey along with pear, passion fruit and sea salt on the nose. Flavors of Key lime and Alphonso mango fill the mouth. Layers of bees wax and lemon zest give richness to the palate which is balanced by intense acidity which provides a cleansing minerality on the finish.

2010 Gewürztraminer Ferrington Vineyard

The flower and spice aromatics of Gewürztraminer (Gewürz means spice in German) are always particularly intense in Ferrington Vineyard’s fruit. Exotic aromas of lemongrass, lychee, and freesia are complemented by more familiar notes of Granny Smith apple, lemon peel, and pear. Flavors of lemon, chamomile, and apple are carried by the refreshing acidity. We love to drink this wine all summer.

Our 2009 Savoy Vineyard Chardonnay is an exceptional wine. Vibrant aromas of lemon curd, marzipan, French melon, brioche, struck flint and toast mix for an especially intoxicating nose. Flavors of lemon grass, grapefruit, and pineapple give way to notes of Asian pear, and quince paste on the finish. Our 2010 Anderson Valley Chardonnay was fermented in neutral oak barrels and aged in a large oak oval that holds the equivalent of 15 barrels. Aging Chardonnay in a larger oak cask preserves the fruit flavors and gives an especially clean finish. The nose on this pretty wine is bright with aromas of dried pineapple, green apple, and lemon zest. Flavors of honey and quince mingle with Meyer lemon and pear on the palate.

Ferrington Vineyard’s characteristic core of intense red fruit in on clear display in the most forward of our Vineyard Designate Pinot Noirs. Aromas of Bing cherry, pomegranate, and raspberry jam fill the noise while hits of coffee, toast, and cola add depth and complexity. Donnelly Creek is typically our most structured Pinot Noir and the 2009 is no exception. The nose is intense with aromas of black cherry, cola, and plum. Our 2009 Savoy Pinot Noir is a wine of striking intensity and definition. Aromatics of black cherry, blueberry, and pipe tobacco fill the nose while hints of Christmas spices and cedar add depth and complexity. The mouth is packed with rich flavors of cherry, pomegranate, and cola. Subtle notes of sweet spices, fennel, clove, and coconut linger on a finish built by silky tannins.
